Brivali Poodles is a small, home-based breeder of AKC Standard Poodles located in northern Florida.  Our poodles live in our home as beloved family members, not in a kennel environment, and are an integral part of our daily lives.

 

With each planned breeding, our goal is to improve upon the previous generation, with a thoughtful focus on temperament, health, and conformation.  While we actively show our poodles in the AKC conformation ring, we strongly believe in producing versatile dogs.  Our poodles also train in activities such as agility, rally, retrieving, nose work, and some have gone on to excel as service dogs and therapy dogs.  Most importantly, we strive to raise confident, stable, and happy companions. Above all else, our poodles are family members first.

Home-Raised Puppies & Early Development
Just like our adults, our puppies are raised in our home with extensive hands-on care.  We follow both Puppy Culture and Avidog practices, which emphasize early neurological development, confidence building, and resilience.

 

Our puppies receive Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and are introduced to grooming from a very young age.  Nail trims begin at approximately three days old and continue every 2–3 days.  Puppies receive their first foot shave around two weeks of age and their first face shave around three weeks.  By four weeks, puppies are receiving weekly baths and blow dries to ensure comfort and confidence with grooming, which is an essential part of life for a poodle.

 

Around four weeks of age, we introduce foundational clicker training, and by approximately six weeks, puppies begin early housebreaking and crate training.  These protocols are introduced gradually and in an age-appropriate manner.  We believe that early socialization, desensitization, and foundational training are critical to raising well-rounded, confident puppies and providing them with the best possible start in life.
 

Health & Ethical Breeding Practices

We believe that setting puppies up for a healthy, successful life begins well before they are born.  In accordance with Poodle Club of America recommendations, we conduct comprehensive pre-breeding health clearances on all of our breeding dogs.  Health testing results are listed on our website under each dog and can be independently verified through the OFA database.

 

We are committed to preserving and protecting the integrity of the breed.  We strive to breed poodles that conform to the Poodle Club of America’s breed standard and do not support cross-breeding or the breeding of so-called “merle poodles.”
 

Puppies & Placement

We welcome inquiries from pet/companion, performance, and show homes.  All puppies are pre-registered with the AKC.  Unless sold as a show prospect, puppies are placed on limited AKC registration, which allows participation in all AKC events except conformation.  Full registration is reserved for approved show homes only.  Puppies go home up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped.  Typical colors we produce include apricot, red, cream, white, and black.

Brivali’s Beginnings

Brivali Poodles is the heart and vision of Jennifer, whose love for poodles began in childhood.  Growing up with poodles, her early years were filled with memories of a beloved black toy poodle named Bambi.  When it came time for her to have a dog of her own, there was never a question about the breed, only the variety.  She ultimately chose a Standard Poodle for their intelligence, versatility, and stamina.

 

That choice led her to Bridgett Valentine, the dog who would leave a lifelong imprint on her heart.  Bridgett was the quintessential family dog and a child’s best friend, accompanying her everywhere, from daily outings and sporting events to countless family vacations and cross-country road trips.  Bridgett’s unwavering companionship spanned Jennifer’s youth and young adulthood, shaping her understanding of the profound bond between a dog and their human.

 

That bond and the impact a well-bred, well-matched dog can have during formative years became a driving force behind the decision to breed poodles with intention and care.  Brivali is a portmanteau of Bridgett and Valentine, created in her memory and as a tribute to the joy, companionship, and lifelong connection she represented.
